Rev. Bill Moore was recently transferred from Mt. View UMC in Boulder and began his appointment at Good Shepherd UMC in July 2011. Bill's family roots are in Texas. He was a youth minister at Simpson UMC which is a Japenese-American congregation. The appointments he served since graduation from seminary were: Fleming-Rockland and then to Basalt-Thomasville in Colorado, up to Douglas, Wyoming, and a wee bit further up to Casper, Wyoming. Four years ago he was appointed to Mt View UMC in Boulder.
In high school, he played for the state championship soccer team for two years. From college, he graduated with honors in economics. Photography is his avocation, and has taken photography workshops with Ernst Haas and Elliott Porter. Humor is a faith avocation, and for a couple of years one of his joys (literally) was serving as a consulting editor for the Fellowship of Merry Christians.
Bill is a dedicated "wishy-washy" United Methodist who loves scripture, revels in education, is influenced by Trappist monks in Snowmass, evangelical Kenyan Methodists (including the Masai), has served on the Conference Worship Committee for 8 years or so and is attracted to certain parts of the Orthodox tradition, and has been blessed by the wonder and mystery of nature, art and the Word.
The above is just a quick glimpse into Bill's love of God in Christ Jesus and the diverse roots that nourish his particular faith experience. Let's join with Bill and have some fun together, do amazing and holy worship together, care for our broken world and its people, critters and flora, listen to one another, pray for and with one another, break bread and share pickled beets, and in general, grow as Jesus would have us grow.
