An inclusive and accepting atmosphere
From its beginning, Good Shepherd United Methodist Church has been known as a friendly church. People of all ages and from all walks of life come and find an inclusive, accepting atmosphere where they grow in their Christian Faith, find support and care.
Good Shepherd United Methodist Church is an inviting neighborhood church family. Our purpose is to celebrate God's message in worship and in our daily lives; engage with our community through active and relevant service; equip our congregation for spiritual growth and expanding faith with emphasis on our young people.
Good Shepherd UMC is located in northwest Thornton at 3960 East 128th Avenue.
This is just west of Colorado Blvd on the south side of 128th Avenue.
Good Shepherd's parking lot surrounds the church on the east and south sides. Plenty of parking is available for all worship services.
What are Sunday Services Like?
Our 9:00 a.m. Sunday service is contemporary, with music, message, and prayer. During a typical service, you will hear upbeat praise music by our praise band and singers, led by Meghan Gress, and you might see a video clip or two plus a slide show that highlights the scriptural message by Rev. Lin. It is high energy and informal. Bring your coffee and come worship with us.
The 10:30 a.m. Sunday service is traditional, with hymns, litanies, our Chancel Choir led by Tracy Lang, all supporting a scriptural message by Rev. Lin. There's also a fun children's message given at the beginning of the worship service before the children leave for Sunday school. While the service is more traditional, we are still pretty informal. There is no dress code and folks are very friendly. Come join us for worship.
