On August 16th the youth participated in a series of group competitions and discussed the importance of being kind to others. Our teens talked about how seemingly small words can have a huge effect on people. We talked about standing up to people who spark fires or befriending those who have been hurt.
The teens were also able to compete in a team competition. It was the battle of boys vs. girls. After a close competition, the boys won 4-3.
YOUTH GROUP is open to 6th grade through 12th grade!!
Every Sunday, a video will be posted to the youth group website page. These will be short bible lessons focusing specifically on social emotional wellness for teens. Topics will include, dealing with peer pressure, time management, finding a support system, etc.
FOOD FOR HOPE
We are the BASH Youth Group of Good Shepherd UMC! Our goal is to be able to provide 100 Thanksgiving meals to families in our community. Please consider donating to help us reach our goal. Every $20 you donate will provide a complete meal, including a turkey, for a family of 4-6 people. Our Youth Group usually likes to be more hands on in helping to serve our community, but with COVID-19, we are thinking of other ways to contribute and keep everyone safe.
You might be wondering what BASH stands for. It is Bunch A SHeep. Sheep are never meant to carry a heavy load. We are not either. We look to God to carry our burdens. As sheep, we want to follow our Good Shepherd and help one another!
Thank you for your generous donation to Food For Hope and their goal to Feed 5000!
